Gripping Ghost Story

6A have been writing ghost stories in literacy. Here is Keira Dinsdale’s horrifying story so far:

It was the year 1952…Everything seemed calm and peaceful. But little did Tommy know, his life would end that very day. Later that evening, Thomas Gilford was killed in strange circumstances.

*****

63 years later.
Creeping anxiously up the oak-wood stairs, Alice’s mind was riddled with the thought that someONE or someTHING was following her. With a swift look over her shoulder, Alice instantly bolted into her room desperately slamming the door behind her. She began to quiver and tremble: “h..hello?” she whispered, terrified. She slouched behind the door and scanned the room with her eyes, noticing the curtains beginning to dance in the wind. But Alice was sure that she had shut all of her windows earlier. She was very aware that strange things were happening. But what exactly…?

After some deliberation, she persuaded herself to venture out onto the landing. Reaching out for the handle, Alice’s skin grew cold and pale. Goosebumps began to emerge, encircling her body like bubbles in a witch’s cauldron. “I’m not scared, I’m not scared!” she repeated constantly. “5…4…3…2…1!” she counted down in her head: her mind was in turmoil. Anxiously, she twisted the door knob to reveal whether or not she was going mad. She edged forwards and crept onto the landing; her heart began to pound so hard it felt as though it was going to burst out her chest. Alice sprinted to the light-switch, perishing the darkness. That was the moment when she saw it…

There it was… right in front of her. She stood paralyzed with fear by the sight she had just witnessed. Cold, dark, pure-evil, worse than she had ever imagined. The feeling was horrible, the demon’s eyes and pale-white terrifying face stared right through her. But beyond the sinister appearance, she recognised the face of this semi-transparent ghoul from photos, but she couldn’t quite put her finger on it…

“Great Uncle Tommy is that you?!” she cried out.

World’s Biggest Coffee Morning

On Friday 26th September, the School Council organised a coffee morning to raise money for the Macmillan Cancer charity. The event was very successful. We managed to raise a massive £354.39 for this very worthwhile cause. Thank to everyone who was a part of it.

Year 6 Residential

Year 6 children have spent the last 3 days having an experience of a lifetime! Not only have they stayed away from home with their friends, they have pushed themselves to the limit to achieve things they didn’t believe they could before. All staff members that attended were magnificent too, and I believe everybody is now ready for a rest this weekend! What a brilliant way to bond as a team before week commencing 12th May – I think something important is happening that week…

Silk painting

6B have spent the afternoon carefully practising the skill of silk painting – it is not easy! Some beautiful first images though, Mrs Bjorndal is eagerly anticipating the final products.
