On Friday evening, our Year 5/6 netball squad faced the challenge of competing against 7 of the best schools in the Humberside area. We managed to win 4 games out of the 7 and finished in 4th place out of 50 entrants. The team played incredibly well showing great skill and teamwork. We are so proud of you – well done!!

6/6!!
DJS played two matches against Middleton Primary School tonight. Winning both matches means we have played 6 and won 6!!
Another incredible performance by all – and a very deserved win. Well done to James, Ruben, Arthur, Bethany, Keira, Lily and Jess!

Victorious Netballers Strike Again!
On Thursday 16th April, DJS won both of their netball matches against Wetwang A! They showed amazing teamwork skills throughout the evening. Well done to all of you!

ANOTHER Netball Achievement!!!
Our netball team competed at the County Tournament tonight after winning the cluster tournament last week. The weather was definitely not in their favour as they faced tough competition. Miss Elliott and Miss Westerby are thrilled to say that DJS are THIRD IN THE COUNTY!! This is an incredible achievement and one that is definitely deserved by all 7 members of the team. Well done to every player and a big thank you to our encouraging fans too!

Net-tastic!
Miss Westerby and Miss Elliott took our Year 5/6 netball team to Wetwang Primary School tonight for their first two league matches. Accompanied by a supportive crowd including Mr Inns, they played extremely well managing to secure two fantastic results of 10-1 and 14-0!
Well done to the team of superstars: Arthur Mellonby, James Staff, Jack Thompson, Keira Dinsdale, Lily Sheriff, Jessica Meredith-Baker and Bethany Mottram.

Netball tournament hosted at DJS
A superb set of matches were played on the netball courts of our very own playground. Our team managed to win 3 group games, losing only one, which meant they represented us in the final. This was a hard match against a free scoring Brandesburton team; unfortunately we finished as runners-up. The weather was perfect and there were excellent displays of team work and encouragement. Thanks to Mr Inns for timing, Miss Westerby for the netball club and coaching and to the senior school children who refereed.
